Maersk Philippines GSC had this one-week long activity for our OTCS department clusters. Five games/contests were held each day separated in two shifts - the morning and afternoon/graveyard shifts.
Day 1 was the Amazing Race. We landed 3rd place here. Our Export boss said we were supposed to be on the top spot. However, there was a misunderstanding on the instructions.

Day 2 was the Battle of the Brain, Again we’ve got the third spot.

Third day was the email writing contest. Unfortunately, we lost in this category.

The fourth day was the Movie poster contest. As expected, although I did not show any interest in joining the event, my bosses still persuaded me to make the entry. They’ve got no choice because they know I’m the only one who can create something that will make the judges drop their jaw. Hahaha Kidding! On my part, I’ve also got no excuse to not follow my bosses’ commands/requests. So I did my best and photoshopped our own poster. Oh by the way, the idea was from Tom Hank’s Saving Private Ryan movie poster. This is the final output.

The guy in the middle is our Israeli head (not sure if he has seen this already). While the other men are my teammates.

We’re really eyeing the second place because the prize will be a team lunch courtesy of Cabalen. So I’m hoping that it will land 1st.

We din’t get the first spot on this category but we’re happy to get the second prize. My boss even want to ask the judges how come we ONLY landed second because upon looking on all of the entries, ours are more appealing. I have the same sentiments, but the decision has already been made. We got to move on.

Friday came and it’s the day for the viewing and judging of our respective tv commercials. To be honest, I have a better idea on the commercial. However, if I share my idea, I might end up editing it as well. But I’m not familiar with the tools to be used. So I let the ‘primadonna’ do his thing. In the end, our boss directed the commercial. Nakakahiya naman dun sa nagmagaling. Wala naman ginawa. The result? We lost. Hahaha

Iberia ranked 1st on our week-long activity followed by New Zealand. They deserve it because everyone on their team participated enthusiastically. For us, I wished we should’ve put more effort on this event, to prove to them the we’re not just a small team situated on the corner of the floor. Hahaha
