This fan account has been delayed for over a half year now. Mianhe chingus! I was just too busy doing other stuff (self-studying Nihongo, memorizing the Katakana and Hiragana characters, painting, toying with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop etc) kekeke. So without further ado, here’s my CN Blue Bluemoon concert experience.

==========

It was the 15th of June. Four days before my birthday. I will finally see CODE NAME BLUE aka CN Blue!

I arrived in Araneta at around 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Way too early! It’s better to wait and kill time at the venue rather than leaving late to attend the event. My friend, Juma, hasn’t arrived yet so I just sat at the corner near the red gate. I was also waiting for Mommy Tess (the lady I met during the Big Bang Alive Tour) because she and her bestfriend were also watching.

The gates opened past 6 o’clock in the evening. Unlike what I’ve seen on the previous concert I’ve attended where security and crowd control were lacking, Araneta’s security was quite okay. We didn’t have to fall in line and since the Boices are not as many as the VIPs, it was tolerable.

Before the concert starts.

My friend and I got the second to the cheapest ticket but we made sure that we’ll be seated as close as possible. We’ll my goal originally was to just see Yong Hwa (and later on, the rest of the boys), which I already did during the press conference. But that event was very unfortunate (you can read my rants about the public press con here).

I’ll be candid. I’m not really familiar with the band. I studied their songs just two weeks before the concert. And that two weeks made me realize that they’re not the usual boyband. They’re really amazing! I even joined a fanart contest and hoped to win a VIP ticket to see them closer. No, I did’nt win kekeke.

We were seated at the upper box b level, Jong Hyun’s side (as requested by Juma). Just because I really want to get photos of CNBlue during their tour, I bought a new pocket camera with exceptional zoom. See, this is how a fangirl can go. My digital camera (which I used during the Big Bang Alive Tour concert) is still working perfectly fine. I just needed something that’s handy, can fit inside my ‘magic’ sling bag and can shoot perfectly even when zoomed.

Before the lights went out, a documentary about CN Blue’s advocacy was being played. It showed their journey to Africa where their first school was being built. Me and my concert buddy on the contrary, got up from our seat, went out and took some photos with the boys. Here are some of the snaps:

Salamat CN Blue (Thank You CN Blue)!

Finally, they turned off the lights. The fans started to scream and wave their lightsticks. Everything was blue and really beautiful. We were so excited and jumped from our seats.

Then, after the long wait, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Jong Hyun, Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin finally went out. Boices started to flail. They’re not singing any songs yet but you can already feel and hear the deafening screams. The only thing I can think of at that time was, ‘This concert is going to be AWESOME!’ Again, let me tell you that I was not their fan. I haven’t even tried watching any performance of them on any social media sites. But the feeling I had during that moment, was I want to be a Boice. That’s it.

As much as I want to give details on each song, I couldn’t remember it anymore. But what we all know is we truly enjoyed the concert. Every song was the band played was responded with endless shrieks and undying love of the fandom. We sang, we danced and grooved to their tunes tirelessly. Each of them played their instruments and sang as if it’s their last. We’re in seventh heaven!

JongHyun, the guitar genius and his ‘shampoo commercial’ moment made the girls go wild. Min Hyuk, our drummer boy, pumped up the concert as he hit the drums. Jung Shin who turned out to be one hella cool entertainer raping his bass guitar slash a bias wrecker. Finally, Yong Hwa - the Dark, Sexy, Metal leader who sang and danced the whole night with the fans was really adorable. I could not say anything more.

Some of the concert highlights in bullets:

• I love how they interacted with the Filipino Boices. They spoke in Korean,English and Filipino. They were even surprised when we understand what they were asking in Korean and answering them back in the same language. 'Sabay-sabay', 'Sigaw', 'Mahal ko Kayo' were some of the phrases they kept on saying during the concert

• Yong Hwa blurting out Singapore instead of Philippines. I was a bit disappointed upon hearing this but I don’t blame him for that because I know he has been so tired touring around the world.

• Min Hyuk craving for lechon.

• Jong Hyun and his ‘shampoo commercial’ moment plus his silky muscles. *drools

• Jung Shin suddenly turned into a ‘bias wrecker’ and savior after Yong’s mistake.

• That moment when Jong Hyun and Yong Hwa raped their guitars. EPIC!!!

• I didn’t know that Yong Hwa is a dance machine. I can still remember his crazy shoulder dance that cracked us up.

image

• The ‘left and right’ conversation of JungShin and YongHwa was really hilarious.

• The Birthday Project for leader was a success!!! You may check this video to see how surprised YongHwa was.

• YongHwa kept on saying DSM – Dark, Sexy, Metal.

• The fan service was SUPERB. I couldn’t think of any other group (aside from Arashi) who can do such fan service.

I wish I was closer...

Everything was perfect. The audio were okay but the light effects were magnificent! I never thought that attending the CNBlue concert will be this amazing. I’ve always believe that only Big Bang can pull off an exceptional performance (mianhe for being too bias). But hell no! These boys have proven their talent. There were no flashy dresses, funky dance choreography and gorgeous back-up dancers. All they have to do is play their instruments and sing to the crowd. Their charisma is exceptional – there’s no doubt about that. They have the makings of an icon that can rule the airwaves for years.

It was indeed a once in a Blue Moon experience. Celebrating it with a friend and your favorite Korean pop rock band, few days before your birthday really meant a lot. Dear GOD, thank you for the advance gift:)
