I know. Men are not that interested in planning a wedding as much a women. It's rare for a man to willingly join their better-halves in attending food tastings, wedding fairs and the like. And my fiance is one of them.
I've been asking him to go with me to bridal fairs and food tasting events but he would always refuse because the venue will always be too far for him. In short, he's too lazy to attend the event. Whenever he does that, I would stop planning our wedding. But because I really want to make my dream wedding perfect, I had to convince him more (or should I say force him?) to attend such events. Luckily, for the nth attempt, he agreed in attending a food tasting event held by RichGold Weddings at the newest events place, the Hanging Gardens.
Finally, this venue has been completed. (Well, it still need some more exterior decorations as the outer parts of the venue are still in construction.) We've been wanting to take a look at this place and shortlisted it as one of our reception venues because it's just near our place. Thanks to RichGold Weddings for their free food tasting event last November 23, 2014 as we got to see the venue and even have a free taste of their delectable menu.
Hanging Garden's LaFayette Hall |
The event took place at Hanging Garden's LaFayette Hall. This hall can accommodate up to 180 guests (better to just lock the guests to 150 pax as it might look crowded). It has a room where the couple can rest or get cozy for a while after the ceremony. Then, if the bride wants to have that 'staircase effect' for their grand entrance, the stairway on this hall will make them look like a King and Queen (hahaha).
Stage design for the couple. But why there's only one chair? Hmmm... |
As for the caterer RichGold Weddings, hands up to them as the dishes are really great. It's delicious. The quotation we got for 100 guests was quite high but considering that you will have two appetizers, salad, chicken, a choice between pork or beef, fish, pasta and two desserts, it's worth it. In addition to that, they also offer LOTS of freebies for the couple. And if we closed the deal last Sunday, we will get an upgrade of having a salad, pasta and dessert bar plus a free lechon! Whoa! Isn't it amazing?
Sample spring wedding theme from RichGold. This is the one I like among their theme choices. |
Beautiful travel-themed table toppers for wanderlust couples. |
Sample Menu: Lumpiang Ubod, Korean Beef Stew, Roasted Beef with Barbecue Sauce or Mushroom Gravy (not in photo), Chicken in Lemon Sauce, Grilled Cream Dory with Mango Salsa and Penne |
Everything was okay except for the Korean Beef Stew which was a bit spicy (and I no longer eat beef) and the Chicken because the texture is kind of different. On the contrary, my favorite is the grilled cream dory with Salsa. I can eat a whole plate of it.
Sample Dessert: Mango Trifle and Chocolate Fudgy Squares The cupcakes are sample cake flavors which are chocolate, mocha, carrot and red velvet. |
We did not get the package because it's beyond our budget. Although we really enjoyed the food and the place is really nice, we had to take into consideration the budget we had. So onto the next venue and catering!
Happy Preps!
